This page will help you install the web extensions shared with you. By following these simple steps, you’ll be able to add them to your browser and test them out. These instructions work well on Chrome and Opera browsers and should also work on other popular browsers such as Firefox and Edge.
After signing-up (https://self-regulate.online/signup) and receiving the zip file containing three extensions, follow these steps:
1. Unzip the File
Find the zip file you received, which contains three extension.
Extract the Contents:
- Windows:
- Right-click on the zip file and select Extract All.
- Choose a destination folder and click Extract.
- Mac:
- Double-click the zip file to automatically extract its contents.
- The extracted folders will appear in the same directory as the zip file.

2. Access the Extensions Page in Your Browser
Using the Address Bar:
Open Your Browser and Navigate to the Extensions Page:
- Chrome: Type
chrome://extensions
into the address bar. - Opera: Type
opera://extensions
into the address bar. - Firefox: Type
about:debugging#/runtime/this-firefox
into the address bar. - Edge: Type
edge://extensions
into the address bar.
- Chrome: Type
Press Enter:
- This will open the Extensions management page.
Alternatively, Through the Menu:
Open the Browser Menu:
- Click on the Menu (three vertical dots) in the top-right corner of your browser.
Navigate to Extensions:
- Chrome/Opera/Edge:
- Go to More Tools > Extensions.
- Firefox:
- Go to Add-ons and Themes > Extensions.
- Chrome/Opera/Edge:
3. Enable Developer Mode
On the Extensions page, find the Developer mode switch in the top-right corner.
Turn On Developer Mode:
- Click the toggle to enable Developer mode.
- Enabling Developer Mode allows you to load extensions that aren’t available in the browser's official store.
4. Load the Extension Folder
Click on "Load Unpacked":
- This button appears only after Developer Mode is enabled.
Select the Extension Folder:
- A file dialog window will open.
- Navigate to the folder where you extracted the extensions.
- Select the desired extension folder and click Open.
Repeat for All Extensions:
- You should end up having the StoryCurator , LearnerEye and YouTube Annotators extensions. This is how the Extensions page should look with these installed extensions. You may also find some default extensions preloaded
5. Verify the Installation
Check the Extensions List:
- Ensure that each extension appears in the list on the Extensions page.
Test the Extensions:
- Click on the extension icons in the browser toolbar to verify they are functioning correctly.
